Residency studies for Foreign Graduates

Application time: from 2 June until 23 June.

Documents needs for application: medical school diploma recognized by Center for Quality Assessment in Higher Education, certificate of the Lithuanian knowledge (B2 level), doctor of medicine license issued State Health Care Accreditation Agency under the Ministry of Health, certificate of the internship finished by Vilnius University, The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences University or other certificate of the internship recognized by Ministry of Health of Lithuania.

A high medical school diploma of applicant must be recognized by Center for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC).

According to the Lithuanian legislations all foreign applicants have to submit the proofs of their previous qualifications being recognized in Lithuania. The qualification documents have to be recognized by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education in Lithuania.

The knowledge of Lithuanian upon entrance should be equal to B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

State Health Care Accreditation Agency under the Ministry of Health is giving licenses for doctors for their medical practice according to The Law on Medical Practice of the Republic of Lithuania (No I-1555 of 25 September 1996), The order No V-396 of 27 May 2004 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania „On the approval of the rules on licensing of medical practice“, The order No V-469 of 28 June 2004 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania „On the approval of the list on types of professional qualifications of medical practice“ and other legislation. Foreign graduates coming to Vilnius University under the residency studies are expected to cover tuition costs.
