OPA by conical pump

kugis JOPA

Bessel beam can be described as a set of plane waves which wavevectors are lying on the cone surface (animation on the left side). We studied the amplifiecation of signal beam in the field of such beam. It was shown that the output angular profile of the amplified signal depends on the parameters of the pump beam: cone angle and intensity. The angular profile does not depend on the input one. The input seed can be even noisy (animation on the right side)! The profiles of the amplified signal as well as idler beams can be found by solving eigenvalue problem (circles) and during the amplification the signal and idler profiles converge to the the theoretical ones (lines).
